February/March

Members and free site users alike accessed lots of our holiday materials in February. We provided writing prompts, cards, reading comprehensions and more for Groundhog Day, Valentine’s Day, Presidents’ Day (or Washington’s Birthday, however your state celebrates), Valentine’s Day, and Mardi Gras. We also continued with our domino letter series and the preschool learning sets. We posted a lesson on Newbery-winner Neil Gaiman’s Coraline, just in time for classes who want to do a book/movie comparison. We’ll be adding a unit on The Graveyard Book next month. We created a new unit on table manners that we hope you’ll find helpful in the lunchroom. We tried to focus on manners that would apply anywhere, as different cultures have different practices. I hope you’ll let us know what you think!

For next month, we have great materials already ready for Women’s History Month and Reading Month. We’ve prepared over 200 documents for St. Patrick’s Day. We have all kinds of coloring pages and craft projects for welcoming spring. I’m pleased about the new plant materials that have been going up- reading comprehensions, science experiments, fact cards, and learning centers. We’re also going to be starting a new physics unit soon that we hope will be a big help to science teachers. Stay tuned!
